Bare Rose Style

Another favorite new outfit for my Crystal Fae Avatar from Fallen Gods - this one from the AMAZING Bare Rose: ::: B@R ::: Petite Battle Axe! This awesome warrior uniform comes in four different colour variations, with the giant-ass battle-axe that can be worn on your back or in you hand.

I paired it with these incredible FREE Drangonhunter Horns from XOPH. These are a free gift as part of the Twisted Fall Hunt 2012. They're incredibly detailed and beautifully sculpted and go so well with the Battle Axe outfit. They're colour changeable with a menu driven script, and come with some amazing devilish particle special effects and sound effects.

It takes awhile to find the gift at XOPH - you have to play a mini-hunt clicking on idols and gathering keywords that you then say in a phrase in local chat to a prize-giving dude-God-bot, but it's sooooo worth it.

I added some beautiful new eyes to my sexy-elf avatar. I wanted something more magical and higher-contrast than the more subdued eyes that come with the Fallen Gods Crystal Fae avatar. These -{The Attic}- Mesh Color Changeable Eyes - Petite Edition (Wicked Male) Eyes are exactly what I was looking for! They're colour changeable with the included hud and you can save colours as favourites for different avatars. Luckily the standard aqua suits my little green guy perfectly, so I didn't have to adjust a thing. There are also two different option - with glow or without - of course I chose to wear the glowing version.

Summer Style on a Budget in Second Life

My last couple of posts featured outfits that ended up being pretty expensive, mostly due to being made up of a mix of items I've bought over the past few months, so I thought I'd highlight some nice cheap deals I've found recently at Navan Designs and Dark Creations.

Up top: The 99 Linden Ripped Jeans outfit. Perfect for your white trash role-play, hanging out in dark alleys, hunting hogs in the the swamp or even for dressing up as hot man-wolf Alcide from True Blood! The 99 Linden sets are a fantastic value, as they come complete with boots/shoes, hats, sunglasses and other accessories that can expand your wardrobe without spending a lot of lindens. Also at The Wash - there's a fantastic cart sale happening with some amazing finds all for only 10L each! Some great steals here, including home furnishing, fashion, gadgets and more. You can check out the most-excellent SL Freebie Hunters blog for comprehensive look at the items for sale.

The Wash is a fun sim, with a Rockabilly theme - a great place to go to listen to awesome spirt-lifting Rockabilly music while you shop. It's home to one of my favourite shops - Hell Bop clothing - the perfect place to get some blue-collar work clothes and fashionable retro '50s outfits.

It's also home to the Fab Free Headquarters - a fantastic place for new avatars to get all kinds of free goodies from top Second Life designers. I always recommend this place to all new Second Life residents!

I got a bit distracted in my shopping by this awesome place - The Carnival of Chaos! I'm a huge comic-book nerd, so there was no way I was going to miss a Joker-themed circus! (I luv the no-bats sign out front. lol!)

I didn't stick around to ride any of the rides as I was on a cart-shopping mission, but I did check out the main tent - where you can buy some Bat-Villain avatars and Bat-Merchandise.

Of course, no Joker circus would be complete without some hungry hyenas.

The Joker doesn't seem to be a fan of other clowns muscling in on his territory!

Barbarian Angel Storms Second Life

I thought I'd show off the original version of my new shape that I was working on before I got distracted/inspired by a certain hot naked Russian gender-bender. I had been browsing the gorgeously dead-sexy barbarian outfits at Ripped (Marketplace Link) and Tamarin Forge (in-world Second Life Link) when I realized I needed a new big macho warrior shape that would complement the hot role-play clothes I bought.

I could have bought one of the beautiful shapes for sale at Tamarin Forge (Marketplace Link), but I much prefer to wear shapes I have made myself. Maybe I should go back and buy one though. They are incredibly beautiful.

This is the shape I came up with - it's amazing how different the face looks with this mouth shape, versus the fuller lips that I added for the Pavel Petel-inspired shape that this evolved into.

 I had a great fun finding just the right accessories for this Barbarian Angel look, like the FREE big-ass sword from 1st Act, metal arm-guards, and beautiful wings. I mixed-and matched some items from a couple of the Ripped outfits I bought. Details below...

MENstuff Hunt

I'm back after another looooong blogging absence. I hadn't been in Second Life for awhile, but when I logged-in recently I found a fantastic new hunt for the guys: The MENstuff Hunt. There's still a few more days left - it runs until Feb 28.

The hunt organizers Ivy Maverick of the fantabulous Maverick Design and Rob Moonites are running a competition for the most stylish dude in the hunt, where we had to put together an avatar look using only the gorgeous gifts available in the hunt, with the winner taking home 30 000 lindens. (whoo!)

I initially entered the contest with a shape and skin of my own, but it was rejected as I didn't realize I had to use a skin/shape combo from the hunt. I hate wearing other people's shapes - creating my own shapes are the only thing I think I've mastered so far - so it always feels weird to me to put on a shape created by somebody else, unless it's an elaborate fantasy avatar of some sort.

So anyway, here's my original contest entry, with me wearing my Ahmed shape and a bunch of goodies from the hunt:

I think I may start selling my shapes on the SL Marketplace so that I can actually afford to a home that I can furnish with some of the gorgeous room sets from Maverick Designs.

Back in Black

More great loot from the Make Him Over Hunt 4 - this time actual clothes! LOL!


First up, this great outfit from #9 Gentleman Store. I was just thinking yesterday that I was going to go looking for some nice black jeans and then I unpacked this and there they were! Great timing. Included in this gift: jeans with sculpted cuffs, sharp pinstripe jacket, belt and beautiful sunglasses. (I added the longsleeve white shirt, ear-plugs and shoes from my inventory.


I love the basic black - it looks great with my wings! I don't have very many black clothes in my closet so this is a welcome addition.

This is another of those I-can't-believe-its-free gifts, from exquisite jewelry designer #10 ROZOREGALIA. A beautiful unisex bracelet that goes great with both the outfits I unpacked today.

This is another cool outfit that just happened to be another all-black ensemble I unpacked today - this one from #17 Leather Bound.


Based on all the frisky hard-core sex toys and artwork at this store I was expecting something a bit more Leather-Daddy in this gift, but this was actually a nice surprise; an understated pair of leather pants and tee with contrasting sheer panels. Really quite nice and goes well with the accessories I was already wearing.


I'm going to be so well-dressed by the time I finish this hunt. I'm going to have to start hanging-out in classier joints!

More MHOH Goodies

Some more fun FREE stuff from the Make Him Over Hunt 4:

From my favourite underwear shop - #25 Vitamen - comes this fun set of tan-lines, available as clothing layers as well as the new alpha tattoo layers for a nice reminder of the long days of summer that are drawing to a close.


I can definitely see myself wearing these during the upcoming long, dreary winter months of perpetual rain to lift my spirits and remind me of warmer days!


In the photo above I'm also wearing  this month's monthly freebie from Vitamen - the Japanese Thong - just find the poster and click to receive, no group subscription required. I love the fine quality of Vitamen's styles - they're always so beautifully made.

Next some stylish new glasses from shop #26 Kumaki Glasses Style. These are great cat's-eye inspired frames accented with a small, subtle rhinestone and a fantastic animation that allows you to wear them pushed up on your forehead. Very cool.


At first I was worried they wouldn't fit on my big fat head, but they are editable so I was able to easily and quickly stretch them to fit.

And finally, a really beautiful vine and leaves jungle-themed outfit from #7 Rising Animations - The Rising Tribal Gaius Outfit.  The level of detail on this fun little bit-of-nothing is quite incredible, considering how few prims the designer Miro must have been working with to create this sexy look. The vines and leaves are surprisingly realistic with leaves that shift and sway when you move, and the generous leaf-covered prim pouch is beautifully textured.


It's such a fantastic little outfit - I can't believe it's free! I can't wait to wear it to a jungle-themed dance-party so I can play Tarzan. lol! 


So far I've just been blogging teeny tiny items from the MHOH4, I'll try to take some shots of actual clothes today.  I had tried to do the hunt in order from the starting point but the lag was so bad that I started jumping to stores out-of-order. Now I'm going to start doing them consecutively now that the traffic has died down a couple of days after the hunt started.

Make Him Over Hunt is Back! (and so am I :) )

I'm back in Second Life after an absence caused by lots of work and Second Life's latest Viewer 2 update, which just wouldn't play well with my system and kept me from playing completely - but I recently discovered the awesome new Phoenix viewer and I'm able to connect again. Yay!

I returned just in-time for my favourite hunt - The Make Him Over Hunt 4! This is the best hunt for guys in Second Life, with tonnes of fantastic designers creating all kinds of great gifts for us hunters - there's163 shops in this amazing hunt. I still haven't unpacked all the great loot from the last one!

I figure if I take pictures of all the prizes maybe it'll force me to get organized and tackle my out-of-control inventory so I'm going to share some of the photos I take here on Muliversal.
